The Tuebingen Research Campus (TRC) welcomes the Senckenberg Center for Human Evolution and the Paleoenvironment (HEP) as a new partner institution. Recently established as a member of the Leibniz Association within the "Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung", HEP focuses on processes driving the biological and cultural evolution of humans and their ancestors in the context of changing paleoenvironments.

Senckenberg and the University of Tübingen have been cooperating in research on early human history since 2008. In 2009, they decided on the creation of the Senckenberg Center for Human Evolution and the Paleoenvironment at the University of Tübingen. The creation of HEP as an independent institute within Senckenberg and the Leibniz Association will further strengthen Tübingen's position as a world leader in research on paleoonthology and archaeology.
